After having seen action with a number of premier league clubs that includes Buffaloes, Dynamos, Ngezi Platinum Stars and Black Rhinos, goalkeeper Blessing Mwandimutsira is enjoying a new lease of life at Northern Region Soccer League new boys MWOS.
After four round of matches in which they are still to lose a match and three points behind the log leaders Ngezi Platinum Stars U19, Mwandimutsira is seeing brighter days ahead for the Norton based MWOS.
“I’ve adjusted well at MWOS and I’m really enjoying myself here. So far so good, I’ve been welcomed well at the club by everyone from my fellow teammates, the coaches, the executive and most importantly the fans have been awesome to me,” Mwandimutsira said.
“I want to repay the faith shown in me by helping the club achieve it’s set targets. I want the team to be crowned champions at the end of the season so that we bring glory to this soccer mad town of Norton. The community is very passionate about football and their team. Even when we travel to away matches, they are always with us and this creates a good vibe for football which is encouraging not only for MWOS and Norton but for the whole league.”
“Personally I would want to emerge as the best goalkeeper in the league at the end of the season. I’m working very hard at training so that I remain focused in each and every game. I really want to see this MWOS team going far and I also have confidence in my teammates. We work as a unit and try to help each to achieve our goals.”
After a 1-0 win over Banket United last Saturday which took them to fourth on the log standings, three points behind Ngezi Platinum Stars U19, MWOS are this weekend away to Chinhoyi Stars on Saturday aiming for another victory.
Log leaders Ngezi Platinum Stars U19 will be hoping to maintain their hundred percent record when they take on OMNIA at Baobab stadium on Friday. Shamva Mine who have been ruthless at home scoring 10 goals in two matches host Black Mambas in the headline match of the weekend at Trojan Mine stadium on Sunday. Mambas are coming into this match from an impressive 4-0 demolition of Concession United.
Trojan Stars and Golden Eagles clash in another big match of the weekend. Trojan Stars had a good start winning the first two matches before losing to MWOS and drew against Chegutu Pirates last Saturday. A win will help them keep pace with the leading pack while Golden Eagles will be seeking to bounce back from the defeat to PAM FC. Eagles who were one of the top performers last year and pre season favourites for the title had a subdued start to the current campaign losing two matches so far and are six points off the log leaders.
Karoi United hosts Come Again at Chikangwe stadium on Saturday with both clubs seeking a first win of the season while ZRP Harare take on Herentals U20 at Morris Sports Club.
Banket United entertain Chegutu Pirates at Kuwadzana stadium with Harare City and PAM FC who both registered wins in their last matches clashing at Callies Sports Club on Friday. Concession United after their heavy defeat at the weekend, seek redemption against Commando Bullets at Muriel stadium on Saturday.
