Zimbabwean players Emmanuel Mandiranga and Tinotenda Muringai got their first silverware at Mozambican club UD Songo after lifting the Pre-Season International Bonanza Cup on Sunday in Malawi.
Mandiranga a former CAPS United striker and Muringai a Dynamos defender on one year season loan, joined UD Songo last month and hit the ground running as they were instrumental in UD Songo beating Kalisto Pasuwa’s FCB Nyasa Bullets 1-0 in the final.
The tournament featured four teams, two from Malawi and two from Mozambique. Dynamos were scheduled to participate in the tournament but were barred because of Zimbabwe’s suspension from international football by FIFA due to government interference in the affairs of the Zimbabwe Football Association.
