Zimbabwe international Tino Kadewere will have to wait a bit longer before making his debut at LaLiga side Real Mallorca after picking up an injury at training in the build up to Sunday’s clash against Real Madrid at Santiago Bernabeu.
Kadewere was set to make his LaLiga debut on Sunday but Real Mallorca announced on Saturday that the Zimbabwe international that suffered a quadriceps injury on right leg and were still to determine whether he was to undergoe surgery or would be put under conservative treatment.
“Tino Kadewere has suffered an injury to the quadriceps of his right leg during a first-team training session,” read part of statement from Mallorca.
“Our medical team is working together with Olympique Lyon to determine whether the forward will require surgery or not.”
Kadewere joined Mallorca at the end of last month on a season’s loan from French club Lyon.
After an impressive debut season at Lyon which saw him being shortlisted among the best three African players in the French Ligue 1 for the Prix Marc-Vivien Foe award in last year, Kadewere had an unforgettable outing in the previous season which was blighted by a nagging muscle injury.
The new campaign was not different either as Kadewere fell down the pecking order as he failed to cement his place at Lyon leading to a loan transfer to Real Mallorca.
